Affordable Indulgence - Homemade Style

CINCINNATI, OHIO --- Extending the premium-plus positioning of their Homemade Brand Ice Cream to stick novelties, United Dairy Farmers of Cincinnati, Ohio has introduced new Homemade Brand Classics Premium Ice Cream Bars.  The new bars feature three of the company’s top-selling Homemade Brand ice creams enrobed in a heavy coating of Nestlé Burgundy and Chatham chocolates.

Homemade Brand Classics come in a 4-pack of 3 oz. bars.  They are available in Vanilla, with a dark chocolate coating; Cookies ‘N Cream, featuring vanilla ice cream loaded with cookies and dipped in a coating of milk chocolate with more cookies; and Cherry Cordial, featuring cherry cordial ice cream loaded with pieces of maraschino cherries and dipped in dark chocolate.  The suggested retail price is $3.29, which the company believes will be a key element to attracting consumers.  “Current so-called super-premium bars offer a good product, but at a price many customers consider prohibitive.  Homemade Brand Classics bars are comparable in overrun, coating, inclusion levels, and overall taste satisfaction, but will sell at a much more family-friendly price", says Jim May, Vice President Wholesale Subsidiary for UDF.

The product introduction is being supported with radio and outdoor advertising, couponing, direct mail and in-store sampling.  It is currently shipping to retail outlets in thirteen mid-central and southeastern states and Puerto Rico.
